The next mobiles to be updated to Android 4.0 will be a number of Sony's other Xperia smartphones from 2011. From next week Android 4.0 will begin rolling out for the Xperia arc, Xperia neo, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman !
One bad piece of news is that any owners of the Xperia Play won't benefit from the update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Sony have stated that it won't be updated because they can't guarantee a stable and consistent gaming experience if it gets updated.
Owners of next generation smartphones will be pleased to hear that Sony hasn't forgotten them. The Android 4.0 update for the Xperia S (pictured above) will launch at the end of June, while Xperia P will follow it closely. The Xperia U won't be upgraded until sometime in the third quarter of 2012, which seems like a long time to wait.
